We replaced the full system with a Carrier Performance Series two-stage/variable-speed condenser paired with a matched variable-speed air handler. Instead of one setting, this system ramps its output up and down to match the actual cooling load of the home — running longer at lower capacity on mild days, and stepping up only when Texas summer heat demands it.
